contracts and guarantees

In order to protect everyone involved we provide a comprehensive service and require you to abide by our terms and conditions if you purchase a kitten or cat from us. You can find a lot of information and our recommendations below.

health guarantee

We love our cats and would not want them to be unhappy at all. When they leave us they will have been vet checked and will be well and healthy to the best of our knowledge. In the event a kitten is due to leave but is unwell for any reason, we will not let them leave until our vet has cleared them - there is nothing worse than dealing with the stress of leaving home with the flu.

In the event that your new companion leaves us and becomes unwell within 72 hours of leaving us, you can return them to us for a partial refund or a replacement if one is available. You will need to have visited a licensed vet to confirm what is wrong with them within this 72 hour period. Hopefully it will be nothing more than an upset tummy and you will be able to handle it without a problem, but you still have the option.

In the sad and unlikely event that a Purrdykatz kitten dies within 9 months of leaving us from a previously unknown congenital defect, a partial refund or replacement will be provided if you have a licensed vet's autopsy certificate confirming the cause of death.

vets

You should register your new cat or kitten with a good, local, licensed vet. All being well you won't need to visit that often but generally they do provide a good sounding board if you are unsure of anything medical. They will also be able to provide you with information on the Pet Passport Scheme if you intend travelling abroad, or on general topics such as neutering and booster vaccinations.

You are required to keep your new cat or kittens booster vaccinations up to date.

insurance

A new kitten will come with 6 weeks insurance. Whether you continue is really up to you, however we would strongly recommend that you continue the cover, especially for the first year when they are especially active and nosey. In later life cats are prone to diseases such as diabetes for example. Anything other than a quick consultation with a vet will be expensive, and insurers generally do not provide cover for a pre-existing condition.

Insurance isn't just about illness. In the event your cunning little chap gets out into the big wide world, most insurers will provide some money for advertising and can provide helpful information on which (if any) vets can take payments directly from them so you don't have to pay first and settle with them.

pedigree restrictions

If you are buying a pet from us then they must be neutered. For a kitten this can be done any time after leaving us but must be done before they are 8 months old. Male kittens reach sexual maturity at around 5-6 months and you would be better off neutering before this time. Don't forget to ask your vet for a neutering certificate so that we can forward the ownership/transfer documents and full pedigree on to you.

If you are buying a breeding cat from us then as a rule any male offspring must be neutered. Female offspring may be placed on the active register if they are of a suitable standard, otherwise they must also be neutered.

You can see a copy of the contracts you will need to agree to and sign below.

on-going care

As we mentioned above, we love our cats and we expect you to do the same. If for any reason you are unable to keep your new companion then we would like first refusal in having them transferred back to us or to be involved in any re-homing that may be required. If you need to re-home then you will need to arrange for your cat to be neutered unless they are coming back to us. This applied to kittens bought from us for breeding.

When you come and pick up your new cat or kitten we will provide you with some goodies your cat will have been using here. We will also provide a summary and care form that gives you a little bit more information on your new friends. You can see copies of these below.

If you have any issues at any time with our cats we are only a phone call away and will help you any way we can.

We don't like to think of it as losing a cat, more gaining a cousin happy
